From my childhood I always had this wish to make the world better and help others. Actually it's so cliche nowadays that everybody says the same. Especially in the developed countries, almost everyone is involved with volunteering and different causes. I believe that people are kind and caring by their nature. Maybe that's why volunteering became a popular thing. However, from my experience volunteering in the orphanage center, I have witnessed the other sides of the volunteerism. It involved many other things rather than being a tool to make a real contribution to the pressing issues of the society. During the holidays and celebrations the center was packed with people taking selfies here and there with children. Sadly, during the normal days very few committed people would visit.
